I am a mechanical engineering graduate based in Bristol. I graduated in 2006 with a 2.1 hons and went straight into the music industry to follow a passion of mine. After 3 years it was obvious to me that I did not want to end up in the industry as it did not offer the career path for which I was yearning; finding myself doing maths and puzzles for fun and it rapidly becoming apparent that it didn't exercise my brain anywhere near as much as would satisfy me!

I was then presented with the upsetting news of redundancy but the subsequent opportunity to get involved with a company that were involved in a very interesting side of engineering - tensile fabric structures. I applied for the position of KTP associate after a little encouragement from a friend who already works at the company (the encouragement needed as I was mid-way through applying for the Navy as an engineer) and after a couple of interviews got the position!

This blog is intended to be a record of my progress, achievements, issues and experience within the KTP, hopefully helping others who are in the same situation but mainly for me as I have a dreadful memory.
